Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is Tanzania's sixth-largest national park, covering 2,850 square kilometers of diverse landscapes dominated by ancient baobab trees and seasonal swamps. During the dry season (June to October), the park hosts one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Africa, with herds numbering up to 300 individuals gathering along the Tarangire River.

The park's varied ecosystems support over 550 bird species, making it one of Tanzania's premier birdwatching destinations. The landscape ranges from granitic ridges to river valleys and acacia woodlands, creating perfect habitats for diverse wildlife. Tarangire is particularly known for its tree-climbing lions, massive pythons, and the rare fringe-eared oryx.
